Thomas is the founder of "Truly Blessed". In 2001 I was shopping with my wife Nell at the mall in Rock Hill, S. C. and the Lord lead me window shopping. There it was, on a table already made. It was on a mirrored licensed plate with Bright Red Letters "Truly Blessed", I knew that was to be the new name of the group. In 1999 I had formed a group out of our Church called the "Wylies" along with my daughter Cynthia and two good friends, Bob Timmons and Shelly Forbes. The group was formed and sang first at our Home Church Lake Wylie Baptist on February 14, 1999. This was also Cynthia Birth Day. After a month my wife Nell joined the group making it a five member group. We sang together until 2000 before changing any members . Bob and Shelly left the group and Brother Jerry Cox from Lake City, Tenn. became our new bass singer. Jerry was with "The Wylies" until the spring of 2001. He had to leave because of working conditions, not being able to make all the dates. At this time we decided to become an all family Trio. We will have been together 10 years this February 14, 2009.
Truly Blessed has recorded with Jeff O'Neal an Heritage Studios in Mt. Holly, N. C. for the past eight year. They had their first Top 80 in "The Singing New" in 2004 with "Lord Have Your Own Way". Since then they have released many songs to radio with Heritage and also with Victory Music out of Kings Mt., N.C.
Thomas started singing as a teenager with his dad and a Bluegrass Gospel group called "The Carolina Trio". In 1972 He sang and played bass guitar with a group called The Singing Triumphs" out of Fayetteville, N.C. In the fall of 1973, he joined "The Chordmen Quartet" of Fayetteville, N.C. as their new bass player. The Chordsmen was one of the top southern gospel groups in the southeast. They were headed up by Bob Raynor who sang bass for the group. The Chordmen worked with all the top groups of the day. The Happy Goodmans, The Oak Ridge Boys. Ed O'Neal and The Dixie Melody Boys, The Florida Boys, The Inspirations, The Kingmen Qt. and on and on..
In 1980 Thomas was relocated to Charlotte, N.C. and was out of the music business until 1999 when God lead him back to what he loves most, working for the Lord singing. We will have our seventh CD coming out in January 2009.. It is called "Gift of Grace".. We went back into the past an picked some songs from the seventies we thought you would like. "God Walks The Dark Hills", "Look For Me At Jesus Feet" is two I thing you will really love. You may go to our on-line store and purchase any product we have..
