Tammy started out singing as a young girl, when her dad would stand her in a chair and play the flat top guitar. She would sing at revivals and church services across Ohio and Kentucky. God blessed her singing ministry to include a 14 year career with her family group, “The Jones Family”. The family group recorded for The Eddie Crook Company from Nashville. While with the Eddie Crook Company Tammy wrote songs for several nationally known groups in the industry. The Perrys recorded “There Has Never Been” and took the song into the Top 10 in the Southern Gospel Charts. The Bishops then recorded “I’ll Live Again” and took that song to #1 on the charts.
As group members grew up and married, other obligations took priority and the group disbanded. Tammy still felt the call of the Lord on her life to share her singing ministry and launched her solo career. During the past 12 years, Tammy has had 9 Top 80 songs that she has penned and release to radio. “Until I Hear From Heaven” went as high as #10 nationwide on the Singing News Top 80 Chart. Tammy recorded 4 projects as a soloist, for Zion Music Group and producer Kevin McManus.
Tammy became a staff writer for Cenergy Music Group in Nashville and wrote or co-wrote several singles by some of the best known groups in gospel music. When Niles Borop retired and sold his interest in Cenergy Music Group, Tammy started writing on her own. She now owns her own publishing company, The Writers Loft and publishes and pitches her own songs to groups. Tammy has several writers that also write for the Loft.
Tammy believes her greatest call is to go after the hearts of the people that she sings for and present Jesus to them in a loving and caring way. She travels the country with her husband Jim (aka: Robbie) sharing her musical talents and testimony to be a blessing and uplift the Lord. Besides her love for ministry her greatest joy is her seventeen year old son Preston who she and Jim feel is the light of their lives.
