Jeff Cleghorn is a native of Warner Robins, Georgia, having attended Second Baptist Church his entire life. He graduated from Warner Robins Christian Academy in 1988, and briefly attended Macon State College. He received a Bachelor of Music degree from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, in 1993; and a Master of Arts in Church Ministries degree from Luther Rice Seminary (now Luther Rice University) in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2005.
From May 1988 until June 1994, Jeff served as the church organist of Second Baptist Church. He was called as full-time Minister of Instrumental Music in June 1994, where his responsibilities included establishing and directing the Church Orchestra, establishing and serving as administrator for the Conservatory of Music, and assisting the Minister of Music in day-to-day operations of the Music Ministry. By the summer of 2008, the Church Orchestra had grown to nearly 40 players, and the Conservatory of Music provided private music lessons for over 200 students each semester. In addition to his work in the local church, Jeff travels with his family, performing Southern Gospel music concerts. Jeff also serves as crusade pianist for Bailey Smith Real Evangelism Crusades across the country each year, and has played for Phil Waldrep Celebrators' Conferences as well. Jeff is a member of the Conference of Georgia Baptist Evangelists (COGBE), the Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists (COSBE), and has received an endorsement from the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.
