Gelina Gilbert is nineteen years old (she was eighteen years old when she authored the book) and lives with her parents and twin brother in Houston, TX. She also has a sister who lives in Austin, TX and a cousin (who was raised with her) who lives in the state of Washington.
She began reading and writing historical fiction at age nine. She soon discovered the joy of writing about Jesus and has continued in that passion ever since. She has written over eighty poems and loves to write songs. She has written seven novels, six children's books, three volumes of quotes, two short stories, a religious inspirational play and is working on her eighth novel. "Crowned At The Cross" is her first published novel.
She is very active in her church youth group and she regularly participates in church activities and group sports. She also enjoys assisting with Sunday School, the yearly VBS, interpreting for the deaf and has been the assistant at the church library for four years.
Music is very much a part of her life. She plays the flute and trumpet in her church band. She also plays the 5-string banjo and is now learning the piano. She loves to sing and praise God! Listening to Christian music is one of her favorite pastimes.
As for her future, writing is very much involved in her dreams. She hopes to continue her education in writing. Whatever God plans for her life, she will always continue in the passion that has transformed her-writing about God's goodness and truth. She uses Habakkuk 2:2 to enlighten her words, "And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it."
